Holding up the tree in Leavenworth!

We stayed at The Sleeping Lady on a quick one night stay in Leavenworth. The lodge was beautiful, the cabin was small (Ethan and Charlie slept in the loft), quaint, with a slight rustic charm and a few modern amenities- robes, towel warming rack, and organic coffee (and no TV-YES)! I loved it. I could stay there for a week and enjoy the Organic Garden (in summer), the food (we didn't eat there though but I heard by other patrons in the pool, that Charlie had to chat with, that it was well worth it), the amazingly large hot tub created in a rock formation that stays open late (Charlie and I went twice-she learned to float on her back, and swim underwater), the kids playroom that had ping pong, pool, and a puppet show, the comfortably quiet library, possibly the workout room, the spa, the fresh clean air, the clear night skies (#dipperfordays) and probably never think about venturing into town at all (well maybe for the wine tastings and a German sausage).
Even though it was short, we had fun. It even snowed overnight so when we woke up we saw beautiful snow drifts surrounding the lodge. We went to the hot tub in the morning around 0800 (which was really 0700 because of DST). We had a snowball fight in the hot tub, and Charlie went in and out of water to make herself a very small snowman. It was very relaxing. Breakfast was pastries in town and coffee at the German pastry shop. We looked around, shopped and finally headed home around 2pm. The drive wasn't too bad since I was in charge of what was playing on Spotify, and since Mark opted to drive in the snowy conditions.

It was even quiet enough to hear the wolves howling!
