The two week, nerve wracking, early morning, swim lessons are over. The kids received a tan, a certificate, and a pretty "generic" blue ribbon! The finale ended with Ethan successfully swimming underwater, and Valerie swimming across the deep end without any help (I think everyone in the county heard my excited scream) . I am so proud of both of them, and may even end up taking them to the pool today just to see their "new" accomplishments! Apart from Val having a crush on her swim instructor (good eye, Val!) and having him force her off the diving board, they both had a really good time.

I didn't have a chance to get a picture of Val swimming across, but if you look in the background she is getting ready to go!

Amazing picture of E-man on the diving board!...he's perfectly posed to perform a difficult platform dive. Great technique!

When we went back to the pool Val jumped off the diving board for about a half an hour without any floaties.Go girl!

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
