Prescription for Peace and Popsicles

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read:
Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am.
Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today!
We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! We had a great time chatting, the conversation ranged from ovulation...and ended with ovulation. I think Micheal enjoyed the conversation as much as the women did! I also think the baby bug has bitten pretty much everyone I know right now, including me! I don't need to hear any reasons "why" it wouldn't be a good idea for me, at this time in my life! So just don't comment (unless it is about a different subject)!
Mark, the kids, and I had a fun feast at Amecca with Lou and Michael! It was a great time to relax and ingest the biggest burrito I think I have ever eaten! I will be sorry tomorrow!
Since it was "writing" day for Mark, the kids and I went with Kristy to the city pool. We had a great time basking in the warm water until it all came to a bloody halt. Ethan had decided to jump off the diving board. Unfortunately his leg missed a step and his chin hit the board, before he even got on to dive. He ran, blood pouring from his mouth, over to us! Sure enough he had taken a pretty good size chunk out of his tongue. I took him straight over to Dr. S, of course holding pressure and applying ice, where she gave me the following prescription (after telling me it would be more traumatic to stitch it up):
Rx: Popsicles and Peace QID x 7 days!
The hour that followed the accident is the first time we have ever seen Ethan be so quiet. Valerie and Pete (her new talking, recording, repeating, irritating, parrot) decided to make up for Ethan's lapse in conversation, squashing any amount of silence that ensued. All this said, we still had a chance to make Scrabble game night. We arrived at the church and were surprised to see such a large turnout! Our passion, or mine, seems to be enjoyed by everyone at Journey! All egos were out and fresh for the stomping! Mine was the first to be crushed...maybe I am loosing my edge? Well, if your keeping score it is reflected in my sidebar total (Mark stopped me flat)! We enjoyed getting to know the James'. They were stiff competition!
Now off to bed...have 36 hours of work to complete in the next three days!
Comments
BTW: Scrabble last night was great! Thanks James's for the great game, and Taylor - thanks for the stiff cup of coffee.
