A Day @ The Zoo

Charlie request. It was actually her first “out of school celebration” request. We don’t go to the zoo as much as we did with Valerie and Ethan. Valerie always wanted to be around animals, Ethan found them somewhat interesting and Charlie came along when the other two were past “going to the zoo is fun” stage. We forgot, we got lazy about doing these types of things with her. I’m glad she reminded us to go because I loved taking a afternoon to watch these predatory animals play and frolic in their enclosures. The tigers, a cute barn owl, and a adorable python (did I just say that) made the top of the list today. Unfortunately the Budgie exhibit, the Walrus’ and the Polar bears were closed/or gone. We did get to see the new Aquarium exhibit. Lots of money was spent on it and I still miss the huge open tank from the previous site.

Prescription for Peace and Popsicles

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
