Winery Day #6

Day 6-Thursday!

We started out at La Crema at 10 am. The winery was recommended to us by our tour guide at Safari West. The winery was beautiful and the lands were gorgeous.  It was early for drinking but we had plans that night for the Francis Ford Coppola vineyards with reservations for dinner at Rustic (their dining room at the winery). Our server at La Crema was young but she was learning her ways around the wine and did a great job introducing the wines. We ended up with a bottle of Chardonnay and a Rose Noir. Both very unique in their flavors. From there we headed back to Kendal Jackson for another tasting since we loved their wines we wanted to compare them to some great wines we had tasted after them. We had a really great time both times at this winery. The seating area is beautiful and the grounds were immaculate, plus their pours are generous! Wr left just enough time to run home, get gussied up for Francis Ford Coppola (FFC) winery and dinner.

FFC was a total disappointment. Our server was short with her explanations and they thought of their customers more as tourists than wine connoisseurs. We had to ask for water and received the smallest cup-it was 108 degrees out and their was no way one could drink wine and not drink gallons of water. We somehow never found the time to eat during the day either. We tasted 6 pours each and then looked at their museum. Since we were unimpressed with our wine experience we cancelled dinner and headed home for another steak/salad/meat and cheese tray dinner out on the back porch. It was a perfect end to the night.
