Thankful
Yay, right now marks the start of my week off! Plus it’s almost Thanksgiving and that always makes my week at work fun. I am THANKFUL I am working Thanksgiving eve and will be spending Thanksgiving day at the In laws. They are the only ones who have a Thanksgiving tradition any longer. I am very THANKFUL they continue this tradition, or I would be in the kitchen cooking a huge meal that takes all day for people who can inhale it in 15 minutes flat! My mother in law doesn’t seem to mind cooking for us and I usually bring dessert. In the past I’ve made elaborate desserts but I find they don’t get eaten unless they are store bought. So STORE bought it is! Maybe my MIL is just as germaphobic as I am. I’m getting worse about it these days. I went to the buffet yesterday and all I could think was that there were hands-with god knows what on them-touching all the ladles! I do blood, sweat, cervical mucus, and poop but germs are so NOT fun. I THANKFUL that I hardly ever get sick but maybe that’s because I wash my hands and use alcohol gel continuously when I do deal with sick patients. I am THANKFUL for alcohol hand gel.

Ethan got his first Admission acceptance. I am so THANKFUL that he has been in Avid these past three years. It has helped him transition into looking forward to the future and helps his continued momentum towards choosing and applying for college. He even got his application fee waived because he is in this program. It saved us from paying $50.00. I believe he plans to go to TCC but since his plans haven’t been sealed he is moving forward with all his applications. He is doing so incredibly well! I am THANKFUL and soooooo very proud of him.

Valerie is still working Petsmart and is contemplating MSU in the fall. She only has 15 credits left. It is absolutely crazy how fast that went...and she is completely free of debt thus far. She is amazing and smart and needs very little guidance although we are constantly giving it to her in small bursts. I am THANKFUL she still allows us to parent her.
Wasn’t this just yesterday?
Charlie is rocking 5th grade. She is learning to save money in 5th grade and budgeting that money. She is reading like crazy. She is in the extracurricular choir, and never misses setting her alarm to get herself to school by 0800 for choir on Tuesday and Friday. She has been teaching herself more songs on the piano and will practice the required songs as little as possible. She loves playing current music and will teach herself the song until she gets it just right. I am THANKFUL that she had such a good ear for music. She is a go getter! Definitely a teen..before being a teen. Here’s her new school photo!
