Neglected Spaces of my Brain

Image
I have neglected my garden completely. I have found that zucchini can grow with little to no water, garlic thrives in my soil, and Mr. Green Bean and Mrs Rosemary will take over if left unattended. Unfortunately tomatoes are at a all time low and no one wants what the strawberries are giving! I don't care this year. I have spent no effort on loving them, watering them, or talking to them. The swing has even missed me. I started off well! I need to find some true grit! Both for myself, my mind, and my body. I am sleeping horribly, I am functioning below standards, and something is missing! I am OVeRWHElmed! I just have to remember what my kids say, my problems are 2nd world problems and don't really matter. So I have just pushed them aside and am enjoying a pedicure during my 1.5 hours waiting for Ethan's soccer to be done. It won't help me in the end but it feels darn good relaxing. I can wait for coffee and a chat with my boy tomorrow. It is what gave me peace today! A...

Teen Camp #2

Image
Val's cabin girls Ethan's Cabin Dare to be Different! Dare to be a Daniel! Where Caitlyn is, that is where Ethan will be! I can see him in the background here! And here...look above the guys shoulder! And to the far right! Always my dabber!!!!!! First things first, let's trade baseball cards! I have my baby babies all back together! Now is she coming home with us is the question? Fast friends!! Indigo Urgent Care For 24 hours it was pure bliss. Everyone home under the same roof! My perfect heaven!!! Valerie agreed to come home and get some rest and medicine so that she could finish the rest of the two weeks out, and also to see Blue (her new to her car). It is a Saturn Vue with lots of spunk and a little vinegar (stick shift)! She loves it and has already driven her pretty well! I forgot to take a picture of the two of them but I will. It was hard to pack a 3 hour drive on two days, go to Indigo, get medicine, make dinner, play cards, sleep in, watch Jurassic World (hence w...

Closing Bell

Teen camp #1 is done and in the books! I would like to say that Valerie slept in her own bed this weekend but no such luck. She truly is having a blast. Last I heard she wanted the Mallory's to adopt her. She even asked me to send her a Bible, NLV version with her name engraved on it to camp! Who is this girl... ha ha ha! They took the counselors out to the Mariner's game during the weekend. She stayed and went to church with the Mallorys. She also told me she might not be back this weekend too! Funny girl sent me a picture of her FB feed that had Jack requesting to be her friend. Ha ha ha. She is such a mini me!  I am so happy that she is growing and maturing daily!

Summer Fun

Image
Kat and I met up at Pioneer Park for a picnic and some kids play Spray Park fun! The kids were content for nearly 2 hours running all over the park between the Spraying fountains to the big toy. We even got to listen to one of their summer concerts in the park. While the kids played we chatted. I love talking to her, she gets me, and we usually have the same thoughts on life. Population controls were first and foremost as we talked about the most recognizable increase and influx of people to our area. It is crazy. You can go nowhere to escape the huddle and bussle of conglomeraterating  individuals. One of the best examples is a spray park on a week day!!! Goodness. Later that day Mark and I chose to carve out time together and planned a fun, mostly free date. We went to Tacoma Art Museum for free (on our ARM pass from the Burke), a bookstore (of course), the Hub for trivia night and dinner (not free but happy hour so lots cheaper) and then to a free show at Tacoma Comedy Club (wit...

On the Road Again

Image
I promised Ethan last week that if he past his Driver's Permit I would take him to see Cait on Sunday. He passed!!! Little did he know I wanted to go to see Val, the Play at the outdoor theater, and geocache anyways. It gave him motivation (regretting the plea now because we are sitting at the DMV waiting in a sea of people--where did all the people come from--for his permit).  Let me just say loudly...I HATE THE DMV!!! It's rediculous. What if the hospital treated OB triage like the DMV? Grr. Okay back to girls day now. Charlie and I dropped Ethan off at 0915, geocached at Merrymoor Park for a couple hours, had lunch in Fall City and then went to see the play Once Upon a Mattress at the Snoqualmie Forest Falls Theater. It was a cute play on the Princess and the Pea and with regard to the plot twist, I had it figured out by intermission. Charlie was so surprised I guessed the twist. It was a great little theater but the seats were horrendous. They were all slanted down hill ...

They're Back

Image
Well, Ryan and Charlie are home! Valerie is NOT😞. I miss my kids when they aren't here. I got the little monster home and immediately got her clean and all spiffed up. It included a double hair washing with conditioner in the sink, a wash rag face wash, a foot soak in the sink, a tub bath with soap, more spray in conditioner for after the tub, hair brushing, and a large dose of body butter applied to both legs/feet/face/temples/forehead and lips. I did miss her teeth but when she wakes up I will get those too. Mr Silky was also washed and is now wrapped up near her as she sleeps. She will probably be out for the night I assumed. She and Ethan insisted on AAA Buffet so we spent this weeks eating out on 1 meal! She ate so much! I think all she ate this week was 25.00 worth of candy! I'm so glad she is home. Valerie is spending this weekend at a counselor retreat so I saw her for about 1 hour. Long enough for me to sweep and clean her cabin, drop off some things she requested, an...
